The Prime Minister and his delegation visited Alibaba Group's headquarters in Beijing, aiming to expand cooperation in AI, cloud, and logistics.
On 20 July 2026 in Beijing, People's Republic of China, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and his delegation visited Alibaba Group's headquarters to study digital innovation and technology. The visit aimed to leverage knowledge to enhance investment cooperation and develop Thai entrepreneurs' potential. Fan Luyuan, Chairman and CEO of the Digital Media and Entertainment Business Group, welcomed the delegation, according to Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office.
The Prime Minister praised Alibaba's role as a leading global technology company that has developed innovations into a comprehensive digital ecosystem. Currently, Alibaba's investments in Thailand cover cloud services, e-commerce, and logistics, benefiting from investment promotion incentives by the Board of Investment (BOI) in digital infrastructure and distribution centers.
He also emphasized Thailand's potential and readiness to be the region's business hub, noting that the Thai government prioritizes attracting investment in future industries such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud systems, and logistics, aligning with Alibaba's business direction.
Beyond infrastructure investment, the Prime Minister expects concrete cooperation through Alibaba's digital platforms to promote Thai tourism to Chinese and global travelers and to enhance digital skills among Thai personnel and entrepreneurs. This collaboration aims to drive the digital economy and elevate Thailand as a strategic gateway linking ASEAN securely.
