On 21 July 2026, Mr. Watcharapol Khaokham, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, announced that the Cabinet meeting approved the appointment of a civil servant under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to a senior-level position, in accordance with the proposal by Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives. They appointed Mr. Rapeepat Chandrasriwong, Director-General of the Department of Agriculture, to serve as the new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
Mr. Rapeepat will assume the position replacing Mr. Winaroj Sapsongsuk, the current Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, who will retire on 30 September 2026.
Mr. Rapeepat Chandrasriwong, currently 53 years old, holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Chaminade University of Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, and a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, where he was honored as an outstanding alumnus in 2023. He is also an alumnus of Chitralada School and served as the 23rd student council president.
