The Cabinet has approved a central budget of 843 million baht to restore irrigation systems in five southern provinces damaged by the 2025 floods.
On 21 July 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokeswoman for the Office of the Prime Minister, announced that the Cabinet approved a 2026 fiscal year central budget allocation of 843.26 million baht from contingency funds for emergencies or necessities. The funds are allocated to the Royal Irrigation Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to implement projects repairing and restoring irrigation structures and systems in the southern region damaged by the 2025 floods.
The repair and restoration projects will be carried out across five southern provinces: Songkhla, Satun, Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat, covering a total of 67 projects. These include repairing the R.1 drainage canal in Songkhla; repairing the Khlong Raket Royal Initiative Canal in Satun; dredging canals using hired excavators along the D7 drainage canal in Mueang District, Yala; repairing sections of the right bank main irrigation canal in the Pattani irrigation and maintenance project in Mayo District, Pattani; and repairing water delivery systems and associated structures at the Ban Kayo Matee water control project under the Royal Initiative in Narathiwat, among others.
