Prime Minister Has Not Yet Received Official Report on Resolution Removing Dr. Soran as NBTC Chairman, Affirms All Must Follow the Law

The Prime Minister revealed he has not yet received an official report on the recruitment board's resolution to remove Dr. Soran Boonbaichaiyapruck from the position of NBTC Chairman due to disqualification, emphasizing that all actions must follow the law and noting it is the individual's right to appeal.

21 Jul 2026 GMT+7 Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul commented on the case where the recruitment committee for the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) unanimously resolved to remove Dr. Soran Boonbaichaiyapruck, NBTC Chairman, due to disqualification following complaints about overlapping positions, saying he has not yet received an official written report on this matter, only learning while in China that there was a resolution for removal, and he affirmed that everything must comply with the law because we cannot violate it.

When asked whether the resolution would have retroactive effect back to 2022 and if previously approved orders would be reviewed, the Prime Minister said this must be handled according to the law. Regarding reports that Dr. Soran may appeal, the Prime Minister said it is everyone's right to appeal and that he must follow the legal procedures to determine the next steps, but that point has not yet been reached.
