Following an extension of the registration period until 20 July 2026 to ensure employers and insured persons have ample opportunity to exercise their voting rights, a total of 1,645,911 people nationwide registered to vote, including 16,066 employer representatives and 1,629,845 insured persons. This represents an increase from the 2023 Social Security Board election, when total registered voters numbered 949,818, comprising 4,209 employer representatives and 945,609 insured persons. This reflects heightened participation from both employers and insured persons in shaping the management direction of the Social Security Fund.
The number of registrants underscores the awareness and engagement of employers and insured persons in exercising their rights to select representatives to serve on the Social Security Board, which plays a key role in setting policies and managing the Social Security Fund—a fund that protects the benefits of insured persons and employers nationwide. The SSO will announce the list of eligible voters and polling locations on 10 August 2026, via the Social Security Office website (www.sso.go.th) and the SSO Plus application, along with SMS notifications. Inquiries can be made at Social Security Offices across Bangkok metropolitan areas, provinces, and branches nationwide. The SSO has also opened a period to submit requests to add or remove names from the voter list until 16 September 2026.
Regarding the candidacy for employer and insured person representatives, the Social Security Office will verify the qualifications of candidates and registrants to ensure compliance with established criteria, promoting a transparent, fair election that builds confidence among all stakeholders. The official list of candidates with their assigned numbers will be announced on 19 August 2026, with a submission period open for additional candidate requests until 24 August 2026.
The election of employer and insured person representatives to the Social Security Board will be held simultaneously nationwide on Sunday, 27 September 2026.
