The government is preparing a grand event to honor His Majesty the King on the occasion of his birthday on 28 July 2026.
On 21 July 2026, Mrs. Yupa Taweewattanakitbaworn, Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that on the occasion of His Majesty the King's birthday on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, the Prime Minister has requested royal permission on behalf of the government to organize a dignified celebration with major events scheduled at Sanam Luang and across the country.
The religious ceremonies include chanting and offering alms to 175 monks as a royal merit-making at Sanam Luang, chaired by the Prime Minister and his spouse. Regional and overseas locations will hold appropriate ceremonies, with the Supreme Sangha Council requested to have temples worldwide conduct meditative prayers in honor of the King.
The pledge-taking ceremony to be good civil servants and the strength of the nation will be chaired by the Prime Minister at Sanam Luang. Government agencies are invited to hold ceremonies at their locations and open online signing via the Office of the Civil Service Commission website (www.ocsc.go.th) from 1 to 31 July 2026.
The ceremony to present royal offerings and light blessing candles will occur simultaneously at 17:30 and 19:29 at the central venue at Sanam Luang, provincial halls across the country, and abroad.
The ceremony to present royal offerings to be submitted to the King will be held on 29 July at 08:00 at Theater Building 601, Royal Palace, Sanam Suea Pa. The Ministry of Defence will lead the delegation, and the Royal Secretary will receive the offerings by royal command.
Additionally, the government invites the public and private sectors and the public to join volunteer public service and charitable activities honoring the King throughout July 2026. This includes setting up altars with the King's portrait and royal offerings, displaying the Thai national flag alongside the royal cypher flag W.P.R. and white decorative cloth at buildings from 1 to 31 July, and signing blessing messages via various channels and online platforms of each agency between 15 and 31 July 2026, to collectively show loyalty and gratitude for His Majesty's benevolence.
