The Department of Local Administration has sent a letter postponing the central local government committee meeting, confirming plans to correct score discrepancies and protect candidates who have legitimately passed.
On 21 July 2026, reporters reported that Mr. Boonprasong Nuansai, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Local Administration, Ministry of Interior, issued an urgent letter to the Central Committees of Provincial Administrative Officers, Municipal Employees, and Provincial Administrative Employees, requesting postponement of the scheduled online meeting via the Department's web conference system originally set for 23 July at 1:00 p.m.
On the same day, the Department of Local Administration, Ministry of Interior, issued a statement regarding the transparent re-examination and reordering of local exam scores to restore fairness to legitimately passing candidates. It stated that after the central local government exam committee (กสถ.) resolved to cancel and reissue the list of successful candidates for the 2025 competitive exams for local government officials to align with facts and laws, adhering to the principles of “accuracy, equality, and fairness,” the key points are summarized as follows.
1. Correcting score discrepancies: A detailed review of answer sheets revealed that some candidates’ scores did not reflect reality, causing ranking errors. Therefore, กสถ. must cancel the previous announcement and reorder scores correctly.
2. Adhering to general standards: Those who fail to meet the minimum score requirements (Part A and Part C) per Clause 18 of the general standards lack the qualifications and rights to be considered successful candidates from the start. Removing their names from the successful list corrects the legal status to match facts.
3. Protecting legitimate passers: Candidates who meet the general standard criteria will have their rankings reordered based on true scores and will be guaranteed appointments according to their rightful ranking without needing to retake exams.
