Prits Sends Letter to Sophon Demanding Four-Point Inquiry into NACC in Sak Siam Case

Prits sends a letter to Sophon demanding four points for the NACC investigation into the Sak Siam case, challenging that if the slogan 'Say and Do' is genuine, the process must be transparent and clear.

On 22 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Prits Watcharasindhu, Opposition Whip Chair, submitted a letter to Mr. Sophon Sarum, Parliament Speaker, to follow up on the opposition and Senate members’ petition requesting the Supreme Court to establish an independent committee to investigate the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) over the Sak Siam Chidchob stock concealment case. This follow-up letter came after the Speaker recently stated in an interview that a screening committee had just been appointed to consider the petition, despite over 40 days having passed since the petition was filed.

In the follow-up letter, Prits proposed four main demands to the Parliament Speaker to ensure transparency and fairness in the process: disclose the names of the appointed screening committee members along with a clear definition of their duties; clarify the timeframe the committee will take to review and report back to the Speaker; invite representatives of the petitioners to provide information and facts during the committee’s consideration for thoroughness; and publicly release the committee’s meeting minutes and findings once it begins its work.

Prits added that regarding Mr. Sophon Sarum’s interview affirming he does not serve any individual or political party nor intends to delay or suppress the opposition’s petition, if the Parliament Speaker truly 'says and does' as per his party’s slogan, Prits hopes he will cooperate with the opposition on these four points to prove transparency and build public confidence.
