“Supamas” chaired the Media Fund board meeting, approving an 81 million baht budget to produce media honoring the “Queen Mother” and giving the green light to open a 300 million baht funding round for 2027.
On 22 July 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, chaired the meeting of the Board of the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund. Present were Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture and Vice Chair of the Board, along with Dr. Patcharin Samsiripong, Mr. Thanakorn Srisuksai, Fund Manager, and expert board members from related agencies attending collectively.
The meeting approved an additional adjustment to the 2026 work plan and budget totaling 81,000,000 baht (allocated from the NBTC's Block Grant of 80,275,000 baht, supplemented by 725,000 baht from the Fund’s leftover budget) to implement projects and public relations activities for the Royal Cremation Ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.
Key projects include producing a historical documentary archive titled “The Science and Art of the Royal Cremation Ceremony,” a tribute documentary, short documentaries showcasing royal duties, and documentaries presenting Her Majesty's brilliance; youth activities including writing contests, speech contests, and short video productions for children and youth up to age 25 at regional and national levels; and producing international-level films honoring the Queen Mother's biography.
Additionally, the Media Fund board approved the 2027 draft work plan and budget within a total framework of 599 million baht. It also approved announcing a call for project or activity proposals to request support funding for 2027 totaling 300,000,000 baht, divided into five grant categories: general grants up to 50,000,000 baht, legal entity grants for media or social enterprises up to 40,000,000 baht, strategic grants up to 110,000,000 baht, collaboration grants up to 60,000,000 baht, and partial support grants for large projects up to 40,000,000 baht.
Ms. Supamas emphasized in the meeting that all projects honoring the Queen Mother should be carried out with utmost care and dignity to properly record royal duties for future generations to study, and to provide an opportunity for youth across the country to showcase their talents.
