On 23 July 2026 GMT+7, Mrs. Monporn Charoensri, Member of Parliament for Nakhon Phanom and Deputy Leader of the Pheu Thai Party, addressed the case of Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat Prompao, leader of the Kla Tham Party, posting on Facebook about the reassignment of several executives within the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, claiming it was due to their failure to comply with financial policies rather than work performance. She acknowledged the opposition's right to critique the government but noted that Kla Tham Party has consistently targeted the Ministry and Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit. She pointed out that Suriya's work focuses on assisting farmers and cooperatives and improving their livelihoods, questioning whether the discrediting arises because Kla Tham previously managed the ministry unsuccessfully and now wrongly assumes ownership, thus aiming to undermine credibility.
She questioned whether such suspicion stems from applying the standards and practices from Kla Tham's tenure as Minister of Agriculture to judge the current government. She also asked why there is no mention of the fact that many issues—including shrimp, barramundi, black-chinned tilapia, and school milk quotas—originated during Kla Tham's ministerial period.
Monporn stated that the appointments and transfers under Minister Suriya are based on expertise, suitability for the position, and comply with bureaucratic procedures, with no buying or trading of positions or bargaining for benefits. Suriya emphasizes working for the people rather than financial matters. If there is inaccurate information, it can be submitted for investigation, as Suriya himself has confirmed his willingness for scrutiny. She urged not to spread rumors or assumptions that confuse and demoralize civil servants dedicated to serving farmers.
