On 23 July 2026, Rangsit Rom, party-list MP and Deputy Leader of the People's Party, responded to Pradorn Prisananantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, who had stated that Yingcheep Atchanont, director of iLaw, is a victim and a political tool, citing old information about the case regarding the election of Senate members (SEN) to attack the Bhumjaithai Party and Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
, He said, “I want to share my opinion with Mr. Pradorn: don’t assume everyone is like you. Don’t look down on others. It is normal for civil society to be alert on this issue and to file complaints; it is natural to discuss the substance of those complaints. What is important today is that, as the government, you must be subject to scrutiny. You must be open and broad-minded about this. To struggle and then say there is a political conspiracy, political backers behind it, or that it’s a victim of political factions trying to cover up the case of MP Pawut Pongwitthapanu or whatever—that, I believe, is pointless.”
Rangsit added that regarding MP Pawut, matters should be judged based on witnesses and evidence. But the Senate election rigging case should not evade scrutiny. Citizens have the right to examine it. If you say you also have the right to sue, I ask directly: is it appropriate for the government to use such power? As public figures, you must allow scrutiny and can seek evidence to clarify. Don’t be afraid of being scrutinized.
