“Abhisit” sends “Kardee” to file a suspension of the 1.6 billion baht TH-AI Passport budget and urges “Anutin” to resolve the Khao Kradong land issue.
On 23 July 2026, Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, revealed the party's direction in overseeing government operations, preparing to submit petitions on two major issues affecting national interests: the TH-AI Passport project by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DES) and the encroachment problem on Khao Kradong land in Buriram Province.
Abhisit said regarding the TH-AI Passport project that Kardee Liaoipiroj, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party, has closely monitored and investigated the matter continuously through the 'Song Rat' platform. On 24 July, the party’s MPs will officially submit a letter to the Minister of Digital Economy and Society. The letter aims to highlight critical weaknesses in the project and propose ways to allocate and spend the 1.6 billion baht budget to maximize value and efficiency for the public. They request the minister to consider reviewing, revising, or possibly canceling the project.
The Democrat Party leader also mentioned the investigation of the Khao Kradong land issue in Mueang District, Buriram Province. The party plans to submit a letter to the Minister of Interior (MoI1) as well, since it has been found that the Administrative Court’s ruling, which clearly states that the ownership of the land in question belongs to the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), has yet to be implemented.
Abhisit confirmed that both issues are of national importance, affecting the country’s interests. The Democrat Party will continue to closely monitor, investigate, and follow up on these matters until they are resolved in full accordance with the law.
