
The Defense Ministry has ordered an inspection of war reserve ammunition stocks and raised measures concerning combat readiness and mission execution in all situations.
At 16:30 on 23 Jul 2026 GMT+7, at the Defense Ministry, Rear Admiral Surasan Kongsiri, spokesperson for the Defense Ministry, announced after the Defense Council meeting that they discussed measures to enhance combat readiness by establishing unified standards for war reserve ammunition and equipment. The Minister of Defense instructed the Thai Armed Forces Headquarters and all military branches to update their databases and set consistent accumulation levels for Category 5 equipment (Sp.5), which includes ammunition and equipment for military operations and war reserves. These standards should align with operational needs, threat situations, and budget capabilities to improve logistics efficiency and readiness for missions in all scenarios.
