Justice Minister Unaware of Reason Behind Pawut MPs Request to Postpone First Forex Case Summons

Ruttaphol is unaware of the reason why Pawut, a People’s Party MP, requested to postpone the first Forex case summons, noting it must be urgent. He said summons can be issued twice and revealed key evidence was found on a company server containing all transaction data.

At 13:15 on 24 July 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttaphol Nawarat, Minister of Justice, gave an interview at the Government House regarding Mr. Pawut Pongwitthayaphanu, a party-list Member of Parliament from the People’s Party, who assigned his lawyer to submit documents requesting a postponement of the first defendant summons in the Forex case to the special investigation team of the Technology and Information Crime Division, Department of Special Investigation (DSI). He said he was informed by the DSI that Pawut requested a postponement, but he did not know the reason as it was not communicated to him. He only knew about the postponement request and was not informed about the new date. This is part of legal procedures, and the DSI will likely issue another summons.

When asked how many times the DSI can issue summons, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttaphol said normally twice. The process will proceed legally. Asked if the DSI would issue an arrest warrant after two failed summons, he said the DSI will consider the reasons for postponement to see if they are valid. When pressed if this was a stalling tactic, Ruttaphol said he did not know the reason for the postponement. If there is an urgent and unavoidable reason, it will be up to the DSI to decide.

Regarding the progress of the DSI investigation and whether they found more than 28 million baht in the financial trail, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttaphol said from what he knew, money trails were found. Importantly, they found a server belonging to QRS Global Co., Ltd., which contains all transaction data of the company and serves as key evidence. When asked who owns QRS Global, he said the DSI will review the details. When asked if the financial trail links to any political party, he replied that it is still unknown.
