On 24 July 2026, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul welcomed former Prime Minister Settha Tawisin during his first return to the Government House in nearly two years since leaving office. Anutin took Settha to tour his office at the Thai Khu Fah Building in a cordial atmosphere, where they exchanged views informally before attending the 2026 Prime Minister’s Thailand Zero Dropout Plus (TZD+) award ceremony at the Phakdi Bodin Building.
At the ceremony, Settha was honored with an honorary award as the pioneer who initiated the Thailand Zero Dropout project as a national agenda. Anutin expressed gratitude to Settha and all parties continuing the policy, which has evolved into Thailand Zero Dropout Plus (TZD+). Over the past 2–3 years, this has reduced the number of children and youth dropping out of the education system from nearly 1,000,000 to about 600,000.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the TZD+ policy is not only about returning children to classrooms but also about enhancing skills aligned with labor market needs to create a secure future. He urged provincial governors and relevant sectors to actively identify individual out-of-school youth to broaden support coverage.
Anutin revealed that during discussions at the Thai Khu Fah Building, Settha’s visit was highly auspicious. He reiterated the government's readiness to continue beneficial policies regardless of which administration started them. Their relationship is long-standing and close, dating back to university days, with frequent meetings and exchanges. Settha’s expertise in economic and business perspectives has led to ongoing advice on various matters.
Settha Tawisin, smiling, said he felt warmly welcomed returning to the Government House. When asked if he had given work advice to the current prime minister, Settha smiled and said, "No, he’s doing fine. We’re more like siblings."
