At 16:10 on 24 July 2026 at the Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul was interviewed about progress in tracking and arresting those responsible for unrest in the three southern border provinces. He said he had received reports and that the government affirms that although they do not use the term 'hunt down,' they will never allow our soldiers or officials to be abused to the point of death. "I will say no more than this," he added.
Regarding the Commander of the Narathiwat Task Force declaring martial law to control the area and pursue the insurgents, the Prime Minister said that is a matter handled locally. As for his approach, he said he must restore justice to the families of the victims. He declined to provide further details and requested no questions about how operations will be conducted.
