"Akkaranan" took the field to showcase his ROV skills competing against students, promoting the 'NPRU E-Sport 2026' model to expand esports nationwide.
On 25 July 2026, Mr. Akkaranan Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education, presided over the opening of the esports training workshop and content creator competition "NPRU E-Sport High School Cup 2026" at Thepmongkolrangsee School in Kanchanaburi Province. Thirty-three high school teams from the area participated in the ROV competition to enhance youth potential in esports and digital content creation.
A key highlight after the opening ceremony was the Deputy Minister of Education joining the ROV game competition with students in a friendly manner. He noted that educational leaders must adapt to engage with the younger generation, understand their thoughts and interests. Playing games together is an important opportunity to bridge the age gap and create space for policymakers to hear youth opinions directly.
Mr. Akkaranan said that worldwide attention on esports is significant, but regrettably, Thailand still lacks serious budget support for youth. Therefore, the Ministry of Education must push for concrete support systems to give talented Thai children the chance to advance to professional competitions.
“We aim to make the project in Kanchanaburi a pilot model for regional esports, then promote this issue at the Ministry of Education level to extend support to students and youth nationwide,” Mr. Akkaranan stated.
