Governor Chadchart visits the commemorative rowing competition "Lifeline Waterways Under Royal Patronage, Continuing the Rattanakosin Way" on the auspicious occasion of the 74th birthday anniversary.
On 26 Jul 2026 at 10:00 a.m., Governor Chadchart Sitthiphan of Bangkok visited the rowing competition commemorating His Majesty the King’s 74th birthday on 28 Jul 2026, titled "Lifeline Waterways Under Royal Patronage, Continuing the Rattanakosin Way," a royal project aligned with the royal policy.
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, through the Pom Prap Sattru Phai District Office in cooperation with the Thailand Rowing Association, organized the commemorative rowing competition under the activity "Lifeline Waterways Under Royal Patronage, Continuing the Rattanakosin Way" to honor His Majesty the King’s 74th birthday on 28 Jul 2026. This event reflects His Majesty's dedication to preserving, maintaining, and advancing royal initiatives on water resource management, environmental conservation, canal restoration, and promoting multi-sectoral participation to enhance citizens’ quality of life. It also underscores the deep connection between riverside lifestyles, a fundamental part of Thai society, and the preservation of the cultural heritage and identity of canal communities.
The commemorative rowing competition was divided into five categories: Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) sprint race with four boats; kayak sprint race with four boats; canoe sprint race with four boats; slalom boat sprint race with four boats; and traditional local boats (plastic boats) navigating through obstacles (floating buoys) with four boats. The event aimed to foster good relations among canal communities, athletes, and water sport enthusiasts, providing a space for the public to meet, share experiences, and revitalize the waterways. This helps sustain riverside lifestyles alongside promoting tourism and constructive canal use.
