The Deputy Minister of Agriculture met with farmers in Tak to expedite water management and promote Ban Tak Cooperative as a CDC Plus distribution center.
On 26 Jul 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Piyarat Tiyapairat, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, led a team to Tak Province to monitor policy implementation. The visit began at the Huai Mae Tho Reservoir project in Mueang Tak District to oversee agricultural water management and accelerate construction of a 49.9-kilometer pipeline system. This system will supply water to support 32,000 rai of farmland during both rainy and dry seasons. She also met with water users to hear their direct concerns, urging all agencies to integrate efforts to resolve water shortages concretely, ensuring farmers have stable water resources for their livelihoods.
Next, the Deputy Minister visited Ban Tak Agricultural Cooperative Limited in Ban Tak District to provide production inputs to farmers and outline implementation of the core policy “Innovative Agriculture for Sustainable Thai Farmers.” She advocated upgrading the cooperative to become a full-service Agricultural Service Provider (ASP) and a Cooperative Distribution Center (CDC Plus) to reduce costs, improve production efficiency, and standardize agricultural product distribution. Support was also offered for GI product processing and funding through the Cooperative Development Fund to enhance bargaining power and secure stable income for members.
Following that, the Deputy Minister visited Dan Mae Lamau Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Mae Sot District to monitor progress on community enterprise activities and soil and water conservation projects. She viewed exhibitions linking marketing of Hom Khaek onions and listened to issues and demands from local farmers. This information will guide planning for developing foundational economic crops, restoring natural resources sustainably, and strengthening the border community economy.
