At 11:44 a.m. on 27 Jul 2026 GMT+7, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul commented on the royal submission regarding Professor Clinician Dr. Sorn Boonbaichayapruk, chairman of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), concerning his disqualification. He stated that procedures are being followed according to the law, which requires a resolution by Senate members. Whatever the Senate's decision, it must be followed to avoid breaking the law or constitution.
Regarding the NBTC chairman's statement this morning (27 Jul) rejecting the nomination committee's resolution declaring him unqualified, the Prime Minister said everyone must fulfill their roles. When the nomination committee's resolution was issued, he consulted Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt because of reports urging swift royal submission for removal. Pakorn advised waiting for the Senate meeting first.
"When the matter from the Senate reaches me, I must sign it; I have no discretion to decide otherwise."
