Watcharapong responded to the Prachachon Party's clarification regarding the 'Orange MP' exposing a Senate selection deal that seems to have no tomorrow, asking whether spiritual leaders of the Orange faction should be held responsible if MPs commit fraud or are involved in drug trafficking.
On 27 Jul 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Watcharapong Kuvijitsuwan, MP for Saraburi from the Bhumjaithai Party and chairman of the parliamentary police committee, spoke about a discussion forum. The forum titled "2nd Anniversary of Senate Selection: In-depth Evidence of Senate Rigging (Part 2)" was organized by the opposition coalition and Mr. Yingcheep Achananon, manager of the Internet Law Project (iLaw), alleging that Mr. Subin Sakda, assistant to Mr. Pichai Chomphupol, MP for Surat Thani from Bhumjaithai, transferred money to 10 Senate candidates, implicating Bhumjaithai Party. Watcharapong urged not to create false narratives against Bhumjaithai and stressed that the matter must be proven through justice, not by premature public judgment. He reaffirmed that Bhumjaithai has no policy or involvement in Senate selection, and any wrongdoing or false claims are unrelated to the party. He questioned similarly whether, in cases where Prachachon MPs embezzle funds or are involved with drugs, it means that the party or spiritual leaders must also be held accountable. “Y.Ch.” who act as a branch of the Orange party or spiritual leaders, must also be complicit in those crimes or not.
Watcharapong posed questions to Mr. Yingcheep, the Prachachon Senators group, and Prachachon Party about the standards in the 2024 Senate election, citing the case of "Palm," Ms. Chalnat Koykul, a former failed Senate candidate who posted that she was not regretful about the results because she had done her best and did not lie to enter politics, while many deals seemed to disregard the future, betraying everyone as if they would no longer live in society. He questioned whether Prachachon tried to silence Ms. Chalnat fearing she would expose rigging among Prachachon Senators initiated by Mr. Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, leader of the Progressives, noting that later Prachachon allowed Ms. Chalnat to run as a Bangkok MP in constituency 28, replacing Ms. Rakchanok Srinok who moved to the party list, and eventually she became a Bangkok MP as desired.
“I want to ask if this is called rigging and whether Prachachon Senators had deals and betrayals before, until finally Ms. Chalnat became an MP. Please answer.” Watcharapong concluded his remarks.
