On 28 Jul 2026 at 9:55 a.m. at the Ministry of Interior, Anutin Chanvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, addressed the incident where he posted a photo yesterday with Newin Chidchob, chairman of Buriram United Football Club, and Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, both key figures in the Bhumjaithai Party, on his personal Facebook. Reporters asked about the atmosphere and whether they had cleared the air.
Anutin laughed and said, "Please help train me on how to ask questions that create division like this. Why is there a need to clear the air? Please tell me why we must clear the air."
He then asked the media, "Are you in my house? If not, then don't ask. This is a matter within the house. How do you know if we need to clear the air? What is there to clear? We've been together for so many years, even before you finished university. So this is a family matter, an internal party issue, not anyone else's business to be informed about."
When asked if he had a message for those spreading negative rumors, Anutin said he had none. He reiterated this is a family matter. If there were real problems, they would be resolved internally, which has never happened. Otherwise, they would not have maintained such a long relationship. They live like siblings, respecting each other. He said reporters should not ask questions like this because sometimes when he answers while thinking something else, the headlines get twisted. He urged the media to be professional and produce quality journalism.
Regarding the strange post by Karuna Chidchob, Newin's wife, Anutin said, "Strange? Yesterday was mild. My sister Tai said, ‘Wow, what's strange about it?’"
A reporter explained it was a post saying, "Cut off those with sharp angles, keep the good, cut off the traitors, grown-ups shouldn't be complicated." Anutin responded by asking if that was wrong. He said those who shouldn't be befriended are those who are insincere, who lie to the people, spread falsehoods publicly, who seek attention without facts or profession but act as political analysts. He questioned how anyone could trust these people, many of whom cannot manage their own affairs, with some businesses closing down one or two at a time. He said he believes journalists must analyze and that education helps us analyze better.
