The Prime Minister and his wife presided over the ceremony to present royal tributes and light candles to offer blessings on the occasion of His Majesty the King's birthday on 28 July 2026.
At 20:00 on 28 July 2026, at the main stage in Sanam Luang, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and his wife Thananont Charnvirakul presided over the royal tribute and candlelight blessing ceremony to mark His Majesty the King's birthday on 28 July 2026. The event was attended by the President of the Parliament, the President of the Supreme Court, heads of constitutional organizations, Cabinet members and their spouses, the Prime Minister's Secretary-General, senior officials, military, police, civilians, private sector representatives, and members of the public.
Upon arrival at the ceremony site in Sanam Luang, the Prime Minister and his wife ascended the stage. The Prime Minister, President of Parliament, and President of the Supreme Court performed a respectful gesture before the royal portrait of His Majesty the King, then laid golden and silver floral arrangements. The Prime Minister offered incense and candles, presented a flower cone, and then lit candles to offer blessings.
Following that, the Prime Minister respectfully addressed the blessing and led the blessing in front of the royal portrait, saying:
“On the auspicious occasion of the 28 July 2026 birthday anniversary, I, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, on behalf of the Cabinet, civil servants, and all Thai people gathered here and across the country, am deeply honored to present blessings beneath Your Majesty's royal grace.
Throughout the past period, Your Majesty has diligently performed numerous royal duties with perseverance and firm determination in caring for all citizens across every region. All royal initiatives and projects derived from Your Majesty's guidance have greatly benefited the nation, enriching Thailand with prosperity and fostering peace and well-being among the people.
With wisdom and far-sighted vision, Your Majesty has promoted development in all dimensions, supporting every endeavor while preserving the nation’s heritage and natural resources, enabling the Kingdom of Thailand to progress steadily amid the changing modern world, maintaining a balance of advancement and sustainability for the nation.
Whenever the people face disasters or hardships, Your Majesty's gracious compassion immediately extends to them, bestowing royal assistance and embracing those affected under royal patronage to relieve suffering and inspire hope and strength for their continued lives.
Your Majesty’s boundless grace and royal presence shine like a radiant lamp this evening, bringing peace and reassurance to all Thai people, fostering loyalty that unites the populace in continuing Your Majesty’s aspirations and preserving the nation’s enduring cultural heritage.
On this most auspicious occasion, I humbly offer my royal blessings, praying that the power of the Triple Gem and all sacred beings universally protect and bless Your Majesty with longevity, prosperity, and all royal wishes fulfilled. May Your Majesty's glorious royal power and grace be a lasting blessing and strength for the Thai people forever.”
Then, the music played the royal anthem. The Prime Minister and his wife received candle lanterns and joined in singing the royal anthem. Finally, the Prime Minister led the attendees in saying “Long live the King” three times, concluding the blessing ceremony.
