The government held a 50-day merit-making ceremony as a royal tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Thepbawadi, Princess Rajasarinisiri Patchra Mahavajraratchathida.
On 30 July 2026 at 07:30, at the Santi Maitri Building, Government House, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the 50-day merit-making ceremony dedicated as a royal tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Thepbawadi, Princess Rajasarinisiri Patchra Mahavajraratchathida. Cabinet members, heads of government agencies under the Prime Minister’s Office, officials, and staff at Government House attended the ceremony. Somdet Phra Phutthachan, member of the Supreme Sangha Council, Great Monk of the Eastern Region, and abbot of Wat Traimit Witthayaram, served as the chief monk of the ceremony.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister lit incense and candles to pay respect to the Triple Gem and lit a small gold ornament before the portrait of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Thepbawadi. Officials invited the monks to chant the precepts, who then administered them. Officials requested protective chants, and the monks with ecclesiastical ranks chanted Buddhist scriptures.
Then, the Prime Minister and Cabinet members offered traditional Thai offerings and boxed meals to the monks. The Prime Minister presented ten sets of monk's robes for the deceased. The monks listened attentively; the chief monk delivered a sermon, leading meditation to dedicate merit as a royal tribute for 47 seconds. The monks expressed approval, the Prime Minister poured water to receive blessings and paid respect to the Triple Gem. The ceremony concluded with paying respects before the portrait of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Thepbawadi.
After the ceremony, the Prime Minister and attendees participated in almsgiving to 10 monks who received offerings in front of the Santi Maitri Building (outer rear).
