Supachai launched an exposé on the 'Orange Senate Candidates' collusion, rebutting Senator Nantana's false claim about pooling funds, revealing a receipt for banquet hall expenses. Another iLaw meeting was held for Bangkok's Orange Senate candidates at the Jim Thompson Art Center, where a Line group was formed and vote lists distributed.
On 31 Jul 2026 GMT+7, Supachai Jaisamut, a party-list MP and chair of the legal task force for the Bhumjaithai Party, spoke on the program Inside Thailand, questioning the standards for monitoring the Senate election. He said iLaw and the Progressive Movement launched the Senate 67 campaign and organized a Senate candidate market to encourage people to register as Senate candidates across Bangkok and other provinces. The election rules for the Senate are complex, spanning from district, provincial to national levels, leading candidates to form groups.
"You accuse the group you call the Blue Senate of various behaviors. I ask, both groups use the same methods. So what is the difference? You say the Blue group's actions are collusion and wrong, but your own group does the same and you say it's collusion but not cheating." Supachai said.
He further stated he has information and evidence showing that the group claiming to be the people's Senate or the Orange Senate openly organized across several provinces, including Bangkok, such as meetings at the Jim Thompson Art Center. Behind the scenes, they secretly created a Line group, set target numbers to block votes, and assigned some candidates just to be voters, ensuring targeted individuals get elected as Senators.
"You think I don't have information? You think only your supporters exist and I wouldn't receive information? You don't think there are audio clips and vote lists showing who must be chosen? I reviewed them and know how many of the 40 Bangkok names you got. So don't underestimate or accuse others, claiming only your group loves democracy. I know which numbers you organized to be chosen, and in the end, those people became Senators. Don't pretend to be good. I'm not saying all groups do this; others exist too. But given the complicated rules, they have to form groups. What I emphasize is that some people are only voters, which is not forbidden." Supachai said.
He also addressed Senator Nantana Nantavorophas's claim that over 300 Senate candidates who met in the Jupiter room at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani pooled money to pay for the banquet hall and bought their own drinks, calling it false. Supachai has a clear receipt showing that Fah Diaokan Publishing House booked and paid for the banquet hall. He urged checking whether that publisher used this receipt for the 2024 tax deduction. He only named the surname and confirmed the facts can be verified, denying accusations against Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit.
Supachai added that these groupings and behaviors might violate the Organic Act on the Election of Senators. He called on the Election Commission to exercise its legal authority to investigate and adjudicate whether the group's actions are lawful or not.
