Worasit ordered that the local exam fraud case must have results by next week and must not be allowed to fade away. Candidates who took the exam honestly must receive justice. He warned that if any government officials are found involved, strict disciplinary and criminal measures will be taken.
On 31 July 2026, Worasit Liangprasert, Deputy Minister of Interior (MOT4), spoke about progress in investigating complaints regarding corruption in the competitive exams for recruiting personnel into local administrative organizations (LAOs). He stressed the urgency for relevant agencies to expedite fact-finding and address all aspects to clarify the matter swiftly. He confirmed that by next week, there must be progress or a conclusion on parts that can be acted upon to restore public confidence.
The Deputy Minister said that competitive exams for local government positions are a crucial gateway for young people and those determined to serve in the civil service. Allowing corruption would undermine ethical principles and destroy public trust in the bureaucracy.
“I have instructed all agencies that by next week, results must be known for what can be acted on. We will not allow this issue to be ignored or dragged out. The public must receive answers, and honest exam candidates must be treated fairly,” Worasit said.
He emphasized that if investigations find any individuals or government officials involved in corruption, they will be dealt with decisively through disciplinary, administrative, and criminal channels without exception, regardless of their position or influence.
He also ordered responsible agencies to coordinate with law enforcement bodies to promptly gather complete, transparent evidence in accordance with justice procedures. Progress reports will be made regularly to keep the public informed.
Worasit concluded by stating that the Ministry of Interior prioritizes enhancing governance in local administration and will not tolerate corruption that undermines opportunities for capable and honest candidates. “The truth must be revealed, justice must prevail, and those who cheat must be punished according to the law.”
