Chaiyachonok Unfazed by Karde Demanding Halt to TH-AI Passport, Commits to Free AI Access for One Year

Chaiyachonok affirmed he is not concerned about Karde's demand to end the TH-AI Passport project and welcomed full scrutiny, while moving forward to offer free AI use to Thai people for one year.

On 31 July 2026 GMT+7, Chaiyachonok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, addressed Democrat Party MP Dr. Karde Liao-Piroj's call to terminate the TH-AI Passport project and his threat to invoke the highest level of parliamentary scrutiny, stating he is fully open to examination and has no worries.

Chaiyachonok said that he had previously received communications proposing suggestions to improve the project and that they had several discussions. Although the recent press statement differed from prior talks, he remains confident in the project’s management, believing it to be cost-effective, beneficial to the public, and focused on quality.

The project was established to allow Thai citizens free access to various high-quality AI models for a full year. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society will continue to advance this project fully for the benefit of the public.
