Anutin Prepares to Discuss Four Major Issues with Min Aung Hlaing

The Prime Minister revealed that Min Aung Hlaing is preparing to visit Thailand to discuss bilateral issues including toxins in the Kok River, cross-border haze, drugs, and call center scams.

On 31 July 2026, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul announced that Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, President of Myanmar, will make an official visit to Thailand next week. On 6 August, there will be bilateral talks, private one-on-one discussions (Four-Eyes), and a meeting with the Thai-Myanmar Business Council.

The Prime Minister added that hosting guests requires advancing economic frameworks alongside the private sector to facilitate business matching and strengthen bilateral relations. The key agenda covers all joint issues: contamination in the Kok River, cross-border haze, ethnic minorities, drug problems, and scammer groups. As neighboring countries with a fundamental good relationship, it is necessary to communicate and support each other. If either side suffers from these impacts, cooperation is required to resolve them for the benefit of both peoples.
