The Prime Minister builds on the outcomes of his China visit by ordering several ministries to integrate efforts and create an Action Plan to promote cooperation in trade, electric vehicles (EV), artificial intelligence (AI), and security for tangible results.
On 1 August 2026, the Secretariat of the Cabinet issued a letter notifying relevant government agencies of the Cabinet's resolution to carry out directives from Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul following his official visit to the People's Republic of China from 17–20 July.
The Prime Minister revealed that discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang led to elevating the partnership to a comprehensive strategic cooperation covering trade, investment, infrastructure, security, cross-border crime suppression, tourism, and future technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and electric vehicles (EV). Additionally, 15 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed spanning higher education, industrial supply chains, space, water management, public health, and agricultural and seafood exports.
Simultaneously, the Prime Minister engaged leading Chinese private sector representatives to attract investment in advanced technology industries, including data centers, cloud infrastructure, and electronic components, which will form a vital foundation for Thailand's future economy.
To ensure swift implementation of these discussions, the Cabinet approved assigning key ministries—such as Foreign Affairs, Commerce, Transport, Digital Economy, Industry, BOI, the Royal Thai Police, and related agencies—to urgently develop an Action Plan with clear timelines and provide continuous progress reports to the Cabinet.
