Survey on Thai Help Thai Plus Project Shows Perceived Boost to Trade and Savings Majority Yet to Decide on Government Support

Nida Poll revealed survey results showing that participants in the "Thai Help Thai Plus" project perceive it as significantly boosting trade income and moderately helping to save expenses. Regarding government support, the largest group said they have yet to decide.

On 2 August 2026, the Nida Poll Center at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) announced the results of a survey titled “Does participating in the Thai Help Thai Plus project lead to supporting the government?” The survey was conducted from 16-21 July 2026 among 1,850 people aged 18 and over across all regions, education levels, occupations, and income brackets nationwide.

When asked about participation in the Thai Help Thai Plus project,

• 71.35% said they were general individuals participating to spend and purchase goods.
• 25.19% stated they did not participate.
• 1.89% said they were shops or business operators participating.
• 1.57% said they were both general individuals and shops or business operators participating.

Among those who did not participate in the Thai Help Thai Plus project (466 respondents)

• 47.42% said they were ineligible to participate.
• 27.04% said they were not interested in joining.
• 24.47% said they missed the registration deadline.
• 1.07% cited other reasons, including not knowing how to register or lacking a smartphone to register.

When asking participants in the Thai Help Thai Plus project (general individuals and business operators, totaling 1,384 respondents) about whether the project helped save expenses, increase income, and stimulate the national economy, the findings were as follows:

1. Regarding helping to increase income from trade,  

• 42.12% said it helped a lot.
• 39.52% said it helped quite a bit.
• 7.67% said they did not benefit in this area.
• 7.51% said it helped little.
• 2.02% said it did not help at all.
• 1.16% did not answer or did not know.

2. Regarding helping to save expenses,

• 48.92% said it helped quite a bit.
• 40.61% said it helped a lot.
• 9.02% said it helped little.
• 1.45% said it did not help at all.

3. Regarding helping to stimulate the national economy,

• 45.09% said it helped quite a bit.
• 33.74% said it helped a lot.
• 15.83% said it helped little.
• 4.62% said it did not help at all.
• 0.72% did not answer or did not know.

Finally, when asking participants in the Thai Help Thai Plus project (general individuals and business operators, 1,384 respondents) about their decision regarding government support after benefiting from the project, the results showed:

• 33.24% said they were still undecided about their decision.
• 26.81% said it made them more supportive of the government.
• 25.43% said they would not support the government regardless.
• 14.23% said they supported the government regardless of whether the project existed.
• 0.29% did not answer or were uninterested.
