The government revealed that the "Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40" program has completed two months, with over 86.4 billion baht circulating, reflecting broad distribution of funds into the grassroots economy.
On 2 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Lalida Pertwiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the government led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is closely monitoring the implementation of the "Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40" program. This initiative is part of the Thai Help Thai Plus measures, which the Cabinet approved on 19 May 2026 to ease the cost of living for citizens and support purchasing power.
Most recently, as of 31 Jul 2026 at 23:00 GMT+7, marking two full months since the program's launch, the project has received strong responses from citizens and businesses, with 86.44 billion baht circulating in the grassroots economy.
The Deputy Spokesperson added that currently 26,040,623 people have joined the program, and 1,192,636 stores have been verified. Of these, 977,059 are stores that previously participated in the Khon La Khrueng Plus program and confirmed their participation via the "Tung Ngern" app, while 215,577 new stores registered through Krung Thai Bank, representing about 18.1% of all stores. This reflects the government's success in encouraging small entrepreneurs to adopt digital payment and commerce systems continuously.
Regarding spending, the total amount is 86.44 billion baht, with the government contributing 49.60 billion baht and citizens 36.84 billion baht. Spending at regular stores remains the primary channel, accounting for about 96.6% of total spending, while about 3.4% is through food delivery platforms.
Ms. Lalida added that the results over the past two months show that funds from the program have been widely distributed into the grassroots economy, especially benefiting restaurants, small retail stores, street vendors, and small entrepreneurs who have gained from increased purchasing power. The 60% government and 40% citizen co-payment model has stimulated money circulation exceeding government budget support and helped sustain private consumption during a period of slowed purchasing power.
Furthermore, the government aims to enhance the long-term capabilities of small entrepreneurs. Participating stores can use the "Tung Ngern" app, which employs artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze business data such as costs, inventory, liquidity, and sales, helping improve business management efficiency and creating financial data useful for accessing funding in the future.
She concluded by emphasizing that citizens can use their rights under the "Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40" program until 30 Sep 2026 GMT+7. The government covers 60% of costs for food, beverages, goods, and services in the program, capped at 200 baht per person per day and 1,000 baht per person per month. Unused funds in any month cannot be carried over to the next. She invited citizens to plan their use of the program fully within the allotted time to help reduce household living costs, support Thai entrepreneurs, and continuously drive growth in the country's grassroots economy.
