Suan Dusit Poll reveals that the Thai Political Index for July 2026 has risen to 3.71 points, highlighting the opposition and national security as top scorers, while Anutin and Rakchanok were recognized as the month's outstanding champions.
On 2 August 2026, Suan Dusit Poll of Suan Dusit University surveyed the nationwide public opinion on the “Thai Political Index for July 2026” among 2,029 respondents from 27 to 31 July 2026. The overall average political index score for July was 3.71, slightly up from June's 3.69. The highest scoring indicators were the opposition's performance and national security, both averaging 4.20 points.
The lowest scoring indicators were tackling drug problems and influence of power figures, averaging 3.01 points. The most prominent government politician was Anutin Charnvirakul at 37.71%, followed by Akniti Nititanprapas at 28.74%. On the opposition side, Rakchanok Srinok led with 33.70%, followed by Natthapong Ruangpanyawut at 25.91%. The ministry the public most expects to perform well is the Ministry of Finance at 18.97%, followed by the Ministry of Commerce at 16.16%.
Dr. Pornpan Buathong, Chairperson of Suan Dusit Poll, stated that the Thai Political Index rose by 0.02 points in July, possibly due to government relief measures and some policy adjustments that helped maintain confidence. However, scores for justice processes, corruption, and drug problem resolution declined, reflecting the public’s ongoing expectations for both economic solutions and improved governance.
Assistant Professor Sorasak Mansin, Chair of the Bachelor of Laws program at Suan Dusit University's School of Law and Politics, commented that the July 2026 poll results show both opposition performance and national security scoring highest, indicating public confidence in the opposition’s work and satisfaction with security management. This may stem from the military’s serious and timely handling of unrest in the southern region.
“Prime Minister Anutin appears to have a clear connection with the public, making him the most prominent government politician in the public’s view. On the opposition side, the most outstanding politician is Rakchanok Srinok, likely due to her rigorous scrutiny of the government. The Ministry of Finance is the most expected to perform, followed by the Ministry of Commerce, demonstrating public concern for economic and livelihood issues and hopes that the government will introduce beneficial projects like the Thai Help Thai Plus program to assist with economic and living concerns.” Assistant Professor Sorasak added.
