Anutin Posts Photo in Shorts, Says Comfortable Following Newin Dress Code Controversy

Anutin posted a photo wearing shorts while participating in family activities following the controversy over Newin being criticized for inappropriate attire during the city pillar shrine ritual in Nakhon Si Thammarat.


On 2 Aug 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, posted a photo with his family viaFacebook.In the photo, Anutin wore casual attire: a black T-shirt, green patterned shorts, and blue sneakers. The photo also included his father, Mr. Chawarat Charnvirakul, along with the caption "Wearing shorts feels better... it’s comfortable." He also added the hashtag #TheBreezeIsCool.

Reporters added that earlier there was a controversy involving Mr. Newin Chidchob, chairman of Buriram United Football Club, who along with Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and leader of the southern wing of the Bhumjaithai Party, participated in the city pillar shrine ritual in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Newin wore shorts to the event, which sparked criticism over the inappropriateness of his attire for such an important ceremony.
