Panida revealed that the People's Party is set to unveil the next phase of the senator rigging case on 4 August, racing against time, while sending a message to the Election Commission that if they are not straightforward, legal action will be pursued.
2 Aug 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Panida Mongkolsawat Member of Parliament for Samut Prakan and Deputy Spokesperson of the People's Party (PPT) spoke about preparing to disclose additional information or evidence in the senator rigging case before the Election Commission (EC) schedules a meeting to decide whether or not to vote on the matter within August. She stated they will continue to reveal information because after the first and second events, numerous witnesses have provided useful information to push the case forward.
Ms. Panida further revealed, that on 4 August, they will hold a special event communicating to the EC by presenting evidence of irregularities in the EC's handling of this case. Witnesses and speakers will join the stage as in previous events. We must work against time because the decision rests with the EC, an independent body, and we cannot use state power to intervene. What we must do is disclose information received from witnesses and involved parties to clarify doubts and reveal the facts in the senator rigging case.
The People's Party deputy spokesperson added concerns that the EC might not act straightforwardly and could choose not to forward the case file to court, which is their greatest worry. As previously stated, there are three possible outcomes:
1. Forward the entire case file to court according to the resolution of Investigation Subcommittee 26.
2. Dismiss the entire petition.
3. Selectively forward only some individuals—those less influential—while excluding central power figures from being accused in this case.
When asked how the People's Party would respond if the EC only forwarded some cases or dismissed the petition entirely, Ms. Panida said there are several approaches. However, based on the evidence they have, they will determine if there was neglect of duty or misconduct, and legal procedures will be pursued accordingly.
