"Surasak" visited Amnat Charoen to deliver a policy urging the rapid development and upgrading of the central sports stadium to accommodate competitions and sports activities at both provincial and regional levels.
On 2 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Surasak Phanjaroenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, together with Mrs. Suksamruay Wantaneeyakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, chaired a meeting to hear the operational plans on tourism and sports in Amnat Charoen province. Ministry executives, department heads, and related agencies attended to monitor progress, discuss problems and obstacles, and jointly set development guidelines to enhance tourism and sports potential in line with the local context at the Phra Mongkhon Ming Muang Meeting Room, 4th floor, Amnat Charoen Provincial Hall.
After the meeting, the Minister of Tourism and Sports visited the Amnat Charoen multipurpose gymnasium with a 1,000-seat capacity and the provincial swimming pool to receive information on management, utilization, and plans for developing sports infrastructure to meet standards, support sports events, and promote physical exercise for people of all ages.
He then inspected the central sports stadium in Amnat Charoen to assess the stadium’s readiness and facilities. He issued a policy directive to relevant agencies to urgently develop and upgrade the stadium to host competitions and sports activities at provincial and regional levels, alongside promoting sports tourism to create economic opportunities and improve the quality of life for local residents.
At 14:30 GMT+7, Mr. Surasak, accompanied by Mrs. Suksamruay Wantaneeyakul, proceeded to Yasothon province to monitor community tourism development and grassroots economic driving. They delivered policies and met with provincial executives, department heads, local administrative leaders, village chiefs, and tourism operators at the Maha Chana Chai District Auditorium, Yasothon.
Mr. Surasak stated that Yasothon province has outstanding tourism potential, including culture, local wisdom, and community lifestyles, which can be further developed into quality tourism. If all sectors collaborate systematically, it will create jobs, generate income, and tangibly improve residents’ quality of life. He emphasized that the Ministry of Tourism and Sports is ready to support community tourism development, upgrade operator standards, and build tourism networks to sustainably boost the grassroots economy.
The delegation visited Fa Yard Subdistrict, Maha Chana Chai District, to tour the Malai Khaotok Museum, a valuable local wisdom learning center in Yasothon, reflecting the cultural identity and lifestyle of the local people. They also met with tourism operators and locals to hear suggestions for developing cultural tourism attractions to draw more visitors while preserving community cultural values.
Next, Mr. Surasak and the team traveled to Bak Ruea Subdistrict, Maha Chana Chai District, to visit Ban Suan Perm Suk Farmstay, a model community-based tourism site linking agricultural lifestyles with creative tourism. They exchanged views with operators on service capacity development, adding value to products and tourism activities, and upgrading farmstay standards to accommodate both Thai and international tourists.
The Minister of Tourism and Sports said that the ministry prioritizes promoting community tourism as a key mechanism to distribute income locally, focusing on developing unique attractions, creating valuable experiences for tourists, and connecting with the creative economy. This approach aims for direct benefits to local people, leading to stable and sustainable grassroots economic growth in line with government policy to develop the economy from community foundations to quality national tourism.
