“Nann” revealed that the TH AI Passport is ready to launch immediately after the Attorney General completes reviewing the amended contract, and expressed surprise at the opposition's petition to gather public signatures to cancel the project.
On 3 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Nann Boonthida Somchai, Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DES), stated that the amendment of the TH AI Passport project contract is currently under review by the Attorney General. Once the review is completed, the Ministry of Digital Economy expects to launch the project immediately, as the contract is now considered effective.
“It is likely we will see promotional campaigns for the project during this period through various channels, since fundamentally the contract is already in effect,” Ms. Nann said, adding that
regarding the opposition’s doubts and desire to scrutinize the project, they can do so through official processes such as filing complaints with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). She viewed the opposition’s petition to collect public signatures to cancel the project as unusual.
