Deputy Prime Minister Songsak met with P-Move representatives to hear opposition against dissolving the Land Bank and scheduled another discussion on 4 August before submitting the matter to the Cabinet, with hopes that Pakorn will also participate.
At 13:55 on 3 August 2026, at the former Civil Service Office, Deputy Prime Minister Songsak Thongsri, overseeing the National Land Policy Committee, chaired a meeting with 30 representatives of the People’s Movement for a Just Society (P-Move). The meeting included Nopporn Boonkaew, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, and Nattha Pachaeyut, Deputy Secretary-General of the Public Sector Development Commission. They discussed P-Move’s demands for the government to reconsider dissolving the Land Bank Management Institute (Public Organization) and to expedite appointing a subcommittee to study and amend the National Parks Act 2019 and the Wildlife Protection Act 2019 under the National Land Policy Committee. The meeting lasted about two hours.
The meeting acknowledged P-Move’s demands and agreed to bring today’s discussion to a joint meeting with relevant parties on 4 August, before submitting the matter to the Cabinet for further acknowledgment. Reports indicate that Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapan, overseeing the Public Sector Development Commission and chairing the Public Organization Development Committee, may attend the upcoming meeting as well.
