The Air Force is hosting a major event inviting Prime Minister Anutin to fly an F-16 from Wing 1 in Korat to inspect the border and deliver a speech to soldiers.
On 3 Aug 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that the Air Force invited Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, in his role as Chairman of the National Security Council, to fly on an F-16 fighter jet from Wing 1, Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, on 14 August 2026 GMT+7.
Prime Minister Anutin will travel from Wing 6 to Wing 1 via Air Force aircraft, with a schedule to receive briefings on missions, local conditions, operations amid unrest along the border, important Air Force projects and research, and flight mission briefings.
Then, Anutin will wear a G-Suit and proceed to the aircraft parking area to take off with a squadron of F-16 fighter jets, departing and returning to Wing 1 airport.
Following the flight, a ceremony will celebrate the Prime Minister's successful flight, including photo sessions. As Chairman of the National Security Council, he will address soldiers at Wing 1 and inspect military equipment.
Anutin will be the second Prime Minister to fly in a two-seat F-16 fighter jet, sitting in the rear seat, just as former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra did when he first flew in an F-16 during his tenure.
