The Central Administrative Court has not yet begun the hearing process in the case where Dr. Sorn sued the NTBC Selection Committee for ruling that he lacks the qualifications as NTBC chairman, affecting his rights to perform his duties, after he affirmed that his status has not ended.
On 4 August 2026 at the Central Administrative Court, Dr. Sorn Boonbaichaiyapruck, Chairman of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NTBC), filed a lawsuit against the NTBC Selection Committee for ruling that he is legally disqualified from holding the chairman position because he received hourly compensation as a practicing physician, which the committee viewed as an abuse of authority and unlawful, as of 3 August.
Currently, the lawsuit is still in the process of appointing a judicial panel at the Central Administrative Court to proceed with the case according to court procedures.
Dr. Sorn affirmed that his status as an NTBC board member remains valid as long as no royal decree has removed him from office. He stated that the Selection Committee’s action affects his legal rights to perform his duties and causes serious harm to NTBC’s administration.
