
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior has informed all provinces nationwide, inviting citizens from all walks of life and network partners from every sector to join activities commemorating the birthday anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen Mother on 12 August 2026, GMT+7.
On 4 August 2026 GMT+7, at the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Assisit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, revealed that in honor of the birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and National Mother's Day on 12 August 2026, the Prime Minister's Office has instructed the Ministry of Interior to organize regional activities in line with government guidelines. This is to ensure the events proceed smoothly and that people from all sectors and network partners collectively engage in activities to respectfully commemorate Her Majesty’s graciousness.
Mr. Assisit stated that the Ministry of Interior has notified all provincial governors, district chiefs, and local administrative leaders to work with network partners in their areas to hold Buddhist chanting ceremonies and merit-making almsgiving dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and National Mother's Day on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, at 7:00 a.m., at provincial halls or suitable locations. Provincial governors will preside over the ceremonies in their provinces, while district chiefs will lead those in their districts simultaneously nationwide. Additionally, each province will determine dates and venues for volunteer public service and charitable activities appropriate to their local contexts.
“The Ministry of Interior also emphasizes that provinces and districts should widely publicize these activities through all communication channels so that the public and all sectors are informed and can participate in showing loyalty and reflecting on Her Majesty’s graciousness collectively,” he said. Mr. Assisit added further remarks.
