Supamas revealed that the Thai film “A Time to Fly” has risen to become one of four foreign inspirational films selected for screening at the 18th Children’s Film Week in China.
On 4 August 2026, Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office and Chairperson of the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund, along with Mr. Thanakorn Srisuksai, Manager of the Fund, announced that the film “A Time to Fly,” supported by the Fund, was selected to be screened at the 18th Children’s Film Week in China from 7 to 9 August 2026 in Beijing, People's Republic of China. It was one of only four foreign films chosen this year.
This participation continues the policy of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who recently strengthened Thai-Chinese relations during his July visit and tasked all agencies with accelerating cooperation between the two countries. Ms. Supamas assigned the Fund's office to use this platform to expand media and film industry cooperation and promote more Thai content entering the Chinese market.
"The Fund has consistently supported quality works every year, but their dissemination, especially internationally, has been limited. Therefore, I have instructed the office to compile completed and ongoing projects into the Fund’s intellectual property database to further develop and add value. The screening of 'A Time to Fly' in Beijing is proof that Thai works can truly reach far," Ms. Supamas said.
The 18th Children’s Film Week in China featured the exhibition "Sports Films Inspiring Youth" under the theme "Sports Heal the Mind, Films Protect the Future." It was organized by the Children’s Film Committee of the China Film Association in collaboration with the Film Art Center of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, supported by the China Film Museum and Beijing Youth Service Center. This year’s selection included 10 outstanding films from China and abroad, covering various sports genres, including live-action and animation. Screenings were held at the China Film Museum and Beijing Youth Palace Cinema, accompanied by post-screening talks with filmmakers and film art workshops for youth.
Mr. Thanakorn Srisuksai, Manager of the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund, stated that “A Time to Fly” is scheduled to screen on 8 August. He and the Fund’s executive team, along with Mr. Tritep Thaikurupan, Director of CU United Extension overseeing innovation communication at Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Communication Arts and the project coordinator, will attend the event. Being screened alongside internationally acclaimed Chinese and foreign films marks a success for Thai cinema. Additionally, the team plans to negotiate introducing other Fund-supported content to the Chinese market at the event.
