Tragic Passing of NACC Commissioner Prapat Khongyiat Due to Illness

Prapat Khongyiat, commissioner of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), passed away after being hospitalized due to illness. He was also a member of the subcommittee investigating the local government examination fraud case.


On 4 Aug 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that in the evening, the official Facebook page of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) published a message stating that the NACC commissioners, executives, civil servants, and staff expressed their deepest condolences and sorrow over the passing of Mr. Prapat Khongyiat, commissioner of the NACC.

It was reported that prior to his death, Mr. Prapat was ill and hospitalized for treatment.

Mr. Prapat, aged 64, was a former civil servant and legal expert with extensive experience in finance and justice. He held positions including Judge of the Central Tax Court, Chief Judge in the Criminal Court, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Director-General of the Comptroller General’s Department, and Director-General of the Treasury Department. He was appointed as an NACC commissioner on 30 Jan 2025 after Senate approval. Recently, the NACC appointed him as a member of the subcommittee investigating the 2025 local government civil service examination corruption case.
