On 4 August 2026, the second day of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council meeting to consider the draft Bangkok budget bill for fiscal year 2027, the council voted to appoint Chatrachai Moddee, Bangna district councillor from the People's Party, as chair of the special committee reviewing the budget bill. This followed extensive debate over the past two days. At 18:50, the council approved the budget principle with 45 votes in favor.
Among the seven external members appointed as commissioners were Mr. Woraphop, Professor Amorn, Siroj, and Torsak Chotimongkol.
