Chaiyachonok Reveals He Identified the Person Logging in to Leak ID Card Data, Believes Political Motives Involved, System Now Shut Down

Chaiyachonok, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, revealed he has identified the person who logged in to release ID card data. It was not a hacking incident. The behavior involved a single IP address from one location. He believes political motives are involved. The system has now been shut down, so there is no need to worry about further data leaks.

At 10:10 a.m. on 5 August 2026 at the Government House, Chaiyachonok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, spoke about the case of personal data of government leaders being leaked online. He said the investigation has progressed significantly and asked that the team handle the process and announce details. He noted the behavior observed was interesting.

Regarding initial findings, Chaiyachonok said it was not a data hack. They found it involved a single IP address from one location, with the account logging in twice. These details are intriguing, but he requested waiting for the team to complete the full investigation to avoid misinformation. The system has already been shut down, so there is no concern about further data leaks from this source.

When asked about the location of the IP address, Chaiyachonok said to wait for the team to finish the investigation to clarify exactly where it originated, but he confirmed it was from a single point.

Regarding speculation that most of the leaked data relates to political factions, Chaiyachonok said he believes this is highly likely based on the observed behavior, but he cannot confirm it yet. He asked to wait for the investigation results and for the relevant agencies to explain the behavior in detail.

When asked if the images shown were truly of Chaiyachonok, he confirmed they are old photos from his previous ID card.
