The Cabinet has approved that all types of officials under the Ministry of Justice be allowed to take leave to participate in a mass ordination project dedicated as a merit-making ceremony for Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha, with such leave not counted as official absence.
On 5 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Sangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, disclosed that the Cabinet approved leave for all types of officials, government employees, permanent and temporary contract workers under the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) to participate in a mass ordination project. The ordinations are dedicated as merit for Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati, Princess Rajasarinisiri Patchra Mahavajraratchathida. This includes the Office of the Narcotics Control Board ordaining 48 monks from 8 to 22 August 2026, totaling 15 days, and the Department of Special Investigation ordaining 47 monks from 17 to 24 September 2026, totaling 8 days. These leaves will not be counted as official leave but treated as official duty, with participants receiving their regular salary.
