The government spokesperson revealed preparations to finalize specifications for the Cabinet's mobile meeting in Songkhla at the end of August. Meanwhile, the NESDC Secretary-General is outlining a development framework for the entire southern region.
On 5 August 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that although the agenda for the upcoming Cabinet mobile meeting (Cabinet on the move) has not yet been officially presented, it is well known that the next Cabinet mobile meeting under Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will be held in Songkhla province late this month.
Mr. Danucha Pichayanan, Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), discussed preparations for the Cabinet mobile meeting scheduled for 31 August to 1 September 2026 in Songkhla. He emphasized the focus on planning development and revitalization of the southern region and noted ongoing discussions about how to drive comprehensive southern development.
Mr. Danucha stated that the government seeks input from the private sector and local residents to help set the direction for advancing the area's future development. NESDC aims for this meeting to promote development encompassing the entire southern region, rather than focusing solely on specific provinces or areas.
“This Cabinet mobile meeting will consider how the government can oversee and structure development throughout the southern region, not limited to particular locations. However, the official conclusions are still pending,” Mr. Danucha said.
