The Royal Gazette published a proclamation granting royal permission to strip the ranks of three former police officers and recall all royal decorations awarded to them.
On 5 August 2026, the Royal Gazette website published a Prime Minister's Office announcement regarding royal permission to strip police ranks and recall royal decorations. It states that royal command has granted permission to remove the ranks of three former police officers under Section 58 of the National Police Act B.E. 2565 (2022) and the National Police Office regulations on rank revocation B.E. 2565, Article 4(4). It also granted permission to recall all royal decorations awarded to them under Articles 6 and 7(4) of the Prime Minister's Office regulations on requesting royal permission to recall royal decorations B.E. 2548 (2005).
1. Pol. Col. Rattarawee Chaiyachana was stripped of his police rank effective 31 October 2017 due to serious disciplinary offenses and was dismissed from service. His royal decorations recalled include the Order of the White Elephant, the Order of the Crown of Thailand, the Fourth Class of the Order of the White Elephant, the Fourth Class of the Order of the Crown of Thailand, the 2nd Class, 2nd Type of the Medal for Freedom Protection, the Border Service Medal, and the Chakramala Medal.
2. Pol. Lt. Col. Yusron Abdulchama was stripped of his police rank effective 5 November 2021 due to serious disciplinary offenses and was dismissed from service. His recalled royal decorations include the Order of the White Elephant, the Order of the Crown of Thailand, the Fourth Class of the Order of the White Elephant, the Fourth Class of the Order of the Crown of Thailand, and the Border Service Medal.
3. Pol. Lt. Phuwanai Kaewnoy was stripped of his police rank effective 26 October 2024 due to serious disciplinary offenses and was dismissed from service. His recalled decorations include the 2nd Class, 2nd Type of the Medal for Freedom Protection and the Border Service Medal.
All three individuals have already been removed from the list of royal decoration recipients as per related Prime Minister's Office announcements.
