A royal decree has specially conferred Territorial Defense Volunteer ranks to Polpeer, Jeset, and Warasit, three Deputy Ministers of Interior, promoting them from prospective Colonels to full Colonels.
On 6 August 2026, reporters reported that on 5 August, the Royal Gazette website published a Prime Minister's Office announcement about the special conferment of Territorial Defense Volunteer ranks. The royal command granted special ranks to Deputy Ministers of Interior as Deputy Commanders of the Territorial Defense Volunteers. As senior commanders within the Territorial Defense Volunteer Command, they are responsible for governing and commanding the officers and members of the Territorial Defense Volunteers. The three individuals are as follows:
1. Prospective Colonel Polpeer Suwannachawi is promoted to Colonel.
2. Prospective Colonel Jeset Thaiset is promoted to Colonel.
3. Prospective Colonel Warasit Liangprasith is promoted to Colonel.
This promotion is effective retroactively from 30 March 2026.
The announcement was made on 5 August 2026.
