The Prime Minister welcomed Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on the occasion of his official visit to Thailand, including an inspection of the honor guard before joint full delegation talks and signing of an MOU.
At 10:25 a.m. on 6 August 2026 at the Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul welcomed Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on his official visit to Thailand as a guest of the government during 6-7 August 2026. Also present to welcome him were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Akiniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun, Minister of Defence Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Justice Police Lieutenant General Rutthapon Naowarat, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Suchat Chomklin, Minister of Labour Julapan Amornwiwat, Minister of Energy Eknat Prompan, Deputy Minister of Transport Patthapong Patarapisit, Deputy Minister of Interior Jetsad Thaiseth, along with military chiefs and the delegation.
Subsequently, the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar participated in the official welcome ceremony and inspected the honor guard on the lawn in front of the Thai Khu Fa Building. The Prime Minister then invited Senior General Min Aung Hlaing into the Thai Khu Fa Building at the Government House to pose for a group photo on the main hall staircase, sign the government guest book, and view commemorative gifts exchanged by both sides.
The Prime Minister and Senior General Min Aung Hlaing then held small group official talks in the Thai Khu Fa Building before conducting full delegation discussions at 11:20 a.m. in the Green Room of the same building.
At 12:15 p.m., the Prime Minister and the President of the Union of Myanmar witnessed the signing ceremony of agreements and exchange of memoranda of understanding, along with a joint aid handover ceremony at the Santi Maitri Building (Rear).
The Myanmar full delegation for the talks included Minister at the President’s Office Khin Maung Yi, Foreign Minister Tin Maung Swe, Minister of Electricity and Energy Ko Ko Lwin, Labour Minister Khin Maung Soe, Commerce Minister Tun Aung, Karen State Chief Minister Saw Myint Oo, Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister Saw Naing Oo, Major General Moe Myint Swe, Chairman of the Defence Industry, Dr. Khai Khai So, Spokesperson for the President’s Office, Deputy Minister of Transport Tun Lu, Deputy Minister of Interior Min Thu, and Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand Saw Saw So.
