Deputy Minister of Interior Phonphir visited the Surin border and ordered the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) to expedite electricity expansion in the Prasat Ta Khwai and Noen 350 areas to improve the quality of life and morale of frontline personnel, thereby strengthening national security along the border.
At 10:00 a.m. on 6 August 2026, Deputy Minister of Interior Phonphir Suwanchawi visited the Surin border to inspect and review requests for electricity expansion at Prasat Ta Khwai and Noen 350. This initiative aims to facilitate operations and reinforce national security along the border. He was accompanied by Surin Deputy Governor Praphat Srichanwiang, heads of government agencies, representatives from the Suranaree military forces, the Surin Provincial Electricity Authority manager, Surin Members of Parliament, and officers from the Surin Provincial Volunteer Defense Corps at Prasat Ta Khwai, Bakdai Subdistrict, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province.
The Deputy Minister and his team also visited the Thai Protector Monument to lay a wreath in honor of the brave soldiers who sacrificed for the nation. They presented essential supplies to military personnel to boost morale as they serve on the front lines defending the country's sovereignty before proceeding to gather information at Prasat Ta Khwai and Noen 350.
The electricity expansion project for Prasat Ta Khwai and Noen 350 by PEA Region 3 includes plans to extend electricity to nine areas with a total budget exceeding 130 million baht. There is also a need to expand electricity lines by an additional 12.5 kilometers and install solar power systems along the route from Lanyang Intersection to Prasat Ta Khwai, approximately 8.7 kilometers.
The Deputy Minister instructed PEA Region 3 to urgently expedite the electricity expansion project according to the plan, emphasizing that the project should commence within 2026 and be completed by early 2027. This is to enhance the safety of all frontline personnel defending Thai territory and to improve the efficiency of national defense operations.
